I recently acquired a small group of young african soft furred rats. I will be feeding them a natural diet similar to the ones described here for mice and rats.
Recently we carved pumpkins and and have one smaller pumpkin to scoop out. Are raw pumpkin seeds okay to give to them. Or should they be baked first?

Hmmm I don't know. I would cook them to be on the safe side!

I gave mine then raw, I gave them a good wash in a sieve with running water and dried them off as best as possible, then I left them on the side to dry out. I did feed my gerbils them baked last year, but that was so I could eat them too! This year with 6 rodents I gave them all to them!
