I'm cleaning out my mouse rack and one of my breeding females is unable to use her back legs. She seems to be getting around ok despite this and I can't see an injury. Was fine 2 days ago, I've put her in her own cage, she's eating, not soiling herself, she had a litter about 7 weeks ago and I put a male in the cage on the 25th. There's another female in the same bin who is fine and they don't seem to be fighting.

Hopefully by now your mouse is doing better. My hamster broke her leg a while back, and she got better mostly on her own. I gave her a little bit of milk for added calcium. ( though I don't really think that helped) In a couple weeks she healed up on her own.

I let several days go by and no change or improvement, I ended up euthanizing her as there was a good chance she was pregnant, didn't want her getting too far along or having a litter in that condition and didn't seem like she was going to get better. Still curious what could have caused it though.

that's very strange indeed. I wonder if she fell from something. Or if it had something to do with the pregnancy...

I am sorry you had to put her down. I would wonder as well if she feel from something. Do you have anything she could have been climbing on? What kind of wheel do you have? Some wheels (the wire ones especially) pose a hazard for little fuzzies getting their limbs stuck...
